Embracing the New Year: Finding Alignment, Hope, and Freedom to Walk in Your Spiritual Identity In Christ!

Updated: Jan 15, 2025

Happy New Year to all! I pray that everyone reading this is blessed beyond measure in this new season of your journey to becoming. Welcome to 2025—a year of jubilee, hope, and open doors. I couldn’t be more excited to see what our Father in Heaven has in store for us this year.

This is a time when advancement in the kingdom is crucial as we step into this new year with decrees and prophecies for every dry area in our lives. Stand firm with every word of God in the Faith of our Lord Jesus. Make 2025 count! For everything you couldn't accomplish in 2024, surrender it to God, He will increase your returns. Let this year be lived on purpose, in purpose, for God’s will. Time is a precious gift that cannot be sold or returned; it can only be cherished and managed with wisdom and the grace of God.

God is sovereign, and He is the redeemer of all things. He can even redeem our time, but why not use our time for His purpose this year and not let distractions overtake us or detour the plans He has for us? I won't say this journey will be easy, but it will be a challenge, as it requires sacrificing the old self to live in the Spirit.

Our purpose matters to our Creator, and our heart posture is key to unlocking His desires for us. Becoming is simple to understand, but it takes a lifetime to accomplish. We won’t be complete until our Lord Jesus returns to retrieve the church. To clarify, I am not referring to a building, but to the people who reflect Him—His body.

I have included four elements that align with God’s will based on the promise and calling in your life.

1.      Practicing self-denial: In this situation, we have a choice. We can’t simply pray for this to happen; we must take action to fulfill the will of God. Our worldly desires are insignificant in this element of surrender. We must deny every fleshly (selfish tendencies) desire to align with the Spirit of God to fulfill his will.  Ref: Matthew 16:24 KJV, NLT

2.      Embracing consistency: Consistency in every aspect of our daily lives is essential. As you establish routines that nurture your faith and purpose, you will become more deeply aligned with God's will and desire for your life. In being consistent you will experience every blessing that God has for you. Ref: 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV

3.      Embracing discipline: Within our most uncomfortable moments, elevation and revelation occur. Commitment in comfortable spaces is easy, but to truly elevate and grow in the realm of the Spirit, we must demonstrate commitment in uncomfortable spaces. That is where true strength and passion for the Lord are cultivated. Maturation in life and spirit is developed through studying scripture, spending intimate time with the Lord, meditating, sacrificing time and energy, and giving. Ref: 1 Corinthians 9:27

4.      Accepting the guidance of the Holy Spirit: When you live a disciplined life, sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is a benefit, this is an essential aspect of being guided. Accepting guidance involves having the right heart posture and intentions. As your intimacy with the Holy Spirit deepens, your spiritual awareness will heighten, allowing a greater immersion with the Comforter and Counselor. Following instructions when given is crucial, as you do not want to grieve the Holy Spirit. Emotions or impulses may attempt to distract you, but as you implement the first three elements the last one will flow. Ref: John 14:26

A season for harvesting is upon us; let’s be prepared to fulfill the command that's been given. Matthew 28:19.

As you and I walk in the Spirit this year, we should seek encounters with Jesus; this will align us with our purpose and assignment. Reliance on divine guidance and spiritual acuity helps us improve our path of purpose as we elevate in the Kingdom of God.
